Affiliate relationships

ChargeCostLab participates in affiliate marketing programs. This means that some links on this site are affiliate links: if you click a link and make a qualifying purchase, we may receive a commission from the retailer or manufacturer at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate partners may include portable power station manufacturers (such as Anker, EcoFlow, Jackery, Bluetti, and Goal Zero), retailers (including Amazon Associates), and lead-generation programs for solar installation and home battery backup services.

How affiliate links are disclosed in articles

Articles on ChargeCostLab disclose affiliate relationships at the point of recommendation. Product links and comparison tables that include affiliate links are labeled accordingly. We do not use hidden affiliate links or obscure their commercial nature.

How affiliate relationships affect our content

They don't — or at least, we work hard to ensure they don't. Our editorial process:

  • Product recommendations are based on published specifications, capacity, inverter output, and fit for the described use case — not on commission rate.
  • We do not accept payment from manufacturers in exchange for positive coverage or inclusion in guides.
  • We do not rank products higher because they carry a higher affiliate commission.
  • If a product is not a good fit for the described use case, we say so — regardless of whether it has an affiliate program.

The affiliate income enables us to keep this site running and free to readers. The goal is that every recommendation would be the same whether or not an affiliate program existed.

FTC disclosure

In accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), ChargeCostLab discloses any material connection between this site and the products or services mentioned. The affiliate relationships described above constitute a material connection under FTC guidelines.
